Great kick.

Great. Not really jumpstyle. I'd say this is much more in the hardstyle realm. Anyway, I absolutely love the kick and the transition from 16th notes to triplets. That was good. The kick though...I'd sample it if I didn't have ethical issues with that :}

Anyway, how did you do the kick? It's amazing!

D-95 responds:

The Kick... it's a very hard work of more than 4 hours :D But as you can hear it's a nice one. Thanks for review!

Great Job

Great job! I have nothing more to say. That was epic! Keep it coming!

I wouldn't mind hearing some nu-style, though ;)

Z-Tone responds:

just wait for the next one:P

Good, but formulaic

No offense, but all of your songs sound the same. Don't get me wrong, the music itself is great. It's just, not much varies from song to song, as far as style. It sounds like you use the same kick, synth, and bass presets/samples, and just change up the melodies. But the melodies are good. I've tried to be creative with melodies, but it just hasn't worked out too well. Example: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/liste n/203869

ANYWAY, I think it's great that you guys are getting as much publicity and popularity as you have been. I know it doesn't sound much coming from someone like me, but not everybody gets famous on Newgrounds. I think you guys could very likely reach the same status as ParagonX9 and Dj-Nate. Keep up the good work!

The kick...

It's nu style. Yay! The kick was really good. I really liked it. Where did you learn to make kicks like that?

Keep up the great work. I hope to hear more in the future.

Hotplurplegnome responds:

this is a more advanced kick than in like god of thunder and wind
cuz they are 100% by me
i learned this one from a tutorial
and then changed it a little bit

Nu Styyyyyle!

I love nu style! My only complaint (why the 9) is because the nu style kick didn't have too many overtones. I could certainly hear it, but it didn't sound like the ideal nu style kick. Of course, everybody has their own sound.

But it's a great song. I really enjoyed it. * favorite'd*

Hotplurplegnome responds:

making my nustyle kick thicker is my main concern these days!
so youll want to hear my next song:
and by the way great review
and thanks for everything

Good, but not the best

I don't know how to jump, but if I did, I'd be jumping. It's good for jumpstyle, but not amazing.

8/10

GenaHzO responds:

thank you =]

im still a begginer, so 8/10 is good for me lol

thanks =]

Good so far

The kick has too many overtones, imho. Try lowpassing or EQ'ing.

Also, the melody near the end isn't agressive enough. Copying the melody at an octave could remedy this. In fact, the kick's overpowering the melody. But this can be fixed with lowpass or EQ. Personally, I prefer EQ.

You've really got something good going with this song, but I don't think it qualifies as Hardstyle just yet. Just extend it and add to it.

p.s., I agree. Hardstyle is very under appreciated and under rated. It saddens me that the world guzzles happy hardcore and anthem trance as fast as the producers are cranking out their albums. People need to learn to pace themselves.

Nice kick

The synths were lacking gabberness, as far as how you chose to use them. The EQ on the main saw synth is...erm, taking away from the synth.

But the kick is nice. Very Nu Style. Keep up the good work! 7/10 for good sounds but poor usage.

4/5:
4.15 / 5.00 (- 0.020)

Fuiste responds:

Yeah, it's more a rotterdam track than a straight up gabber, and I don't listen to a whole lot of either, so that might explain the melodic-ness and my use of synths. And yeah, the main z3ta+ saw lead is a bit lacking, as I had to EQ a lot of the low frequencies out to make the song less muddy sounding and bring the mix up. I figured giving it some super compressed saturated feeling would sound good. I guess I was a bit off the mark though...

Oh well. I made it as an experiment, and it was fun. Thanks for the review!

Peace.

Gabber...hmm

I'm not an expert on gabber, but this is certainly a gabber tune. I liked the screeches and the kicks... but from my perspective, it could have used a bit more to keep it alive. The song kinda got lame around 2:42 for me. Still, great job! I'm not really too talented in the gabber region, so don't take my opinion too seriously.

DjDick responds:

Thanks for the review. I'll will take what you wrote in consideration for future works. No worries, you don't have to be an expert in any genre to give good critique. Thanks again.

I love goa!

I like goa. Great job, even though it sounded more housey. I especially liked the synths (like the square-esque ones that come in at around 1:35 and play for the rest of the song). Any detail on how those were done?

The kick and bass (particularly how they were used) made this song seem more like a house song than a goa song to me. The sidechain compression also contributed to making this song seem more like a house song. Personally, I don't see sidechain compression as something that should be used in psy/goa music. It certainly works well in this song, but I think it's more appropriate for house music.

I'm just judging based on what I've heard on HBR1.com. This sounds a lot more like something to be heard on their house channel than their trance channel.

Great tune, though. I really enjoyed it. Very professional sounding.

C-Enterprise responds:

Thanks a lot for the big review, i'll consider your tips if i may make a new song or work on this =)
